Recording Monthly Office Metrics

The Activity Log captures monthly office-level metrics that don't come directly from sales data uploads. These numbers give you a complete picture of your agency's activity and growth beyond just new business.

What to Record

Each month, record your office's key metrics:

  • Auto Gain — net gain or loss in auto policies for the month
  • Fire Gain — net gain or loss in fire/home policies
  • Households — total number of households your agency insures
  • Policy Count — total number of active policies across all lines
  • Premium — total premium in force
  • Notes — any context about the month (staffing changes, campaigns, events)

Team Quote Activity

Below the office metrics, you can record how many quotes each team member ran by product line: Auto, Fire, Life, and Health. This tracks effort and activity level — not just results. It's valuable for understanding the full sales funnel: how many quotes does it take to close a sale?

How Auto-Save Works

The Activity Log uses auto-save. As you type in any field, the system automatically saves after a brief pause (about one second). You don't need to click a save button. Look for the subtle save-confirmation indicator to confirm your changes were saved.

Recording Steps

  1. Navigate to Data Upload → Activity Log — open the Data Upload page and click the Activity Log tab.
  2. Select the month — use the date navigation at the top to select the month you're recording data for.
  3. Fill in Office Metrics — enter Auto Gain, Fire Gain, Households, Policy Count, Premium, and any notes for the month.
  4. Fill in Team Quote Activity — for each team member, enter how many quotes they ran in each product line (Auto, Fire, Life, Health).
  5. Data saves automatically — no save button needed. Fill in the numbers and move on.

Tip. Set a calendar reminder for the last business day of each month to update the activity log. Consistent monthly data makes your trends and projections much more meaningful.
